NOTICE OF RACE

AYC 2019 52nd Annual Regatta

To all sailors! The Arlington Yacht Club  is proud to announce, in partnership with the City of Arlinton, our 2019 52nd Annual Regatta. Once again sailors will brave the waters of Lake Arlington for a chance of glory.

Host: Arlington Yacht Club and The Arlington Parks and Recreation Department

Date: April 27th and 28th, 2019

Venue: Richard Simpson Park, Lake Arlington, Arlington,TX

             Richard Simpson Park is located at:

              6300 W Arkansas Ln, Arlington, TX 76016

Registration: This is an event open to all classes of sailboats. Boats will be entered by completing a registration form and paying the required fees onsite. Cash and/or checks only will be accepted for payment. Payment can be made on April 27th, 2019 during registration.

At this time we are unable to take credit cards

Eligibility:  All sailors must adhere to their class rules. Three boats of the same class  will constitute a fleet and will receive their own start.

 Rules: The races will be governed by the rules defined in current The Racing Rules of Sailing. The Sailing Instructions will take precedence in case of conflict. This changes RRS 63.7.

Advertising: No advertising may be displayed pursuant to ISAF Regulation 20.6.4

09:30----Warning Signal for first race of the day

12:00----No Warning Signal after this time

Lunch and Awards Ceremony

Entry Fee: The entry fee is $65, which includes the Skipper's breakfasts and  lunches both days and dinner Saturday night. Crew/Guest lunches are $7.00 each. Saturday dinner is included for the registered skipper and will be $15.00 for Crew/Guests. To help with our meal planning, we would ask that you pre-register by phone or email so we will know how much food to buy.

Scoring: No pre-defined number of races are scheduled. A practical number of races suitable to time limits and weather conditions will be held. Appendix A (low point scoring) will be used, except that a boats final score will be the sum of all races with no throw outs. This changes Rule A2. Starts will use a 5 minute start sequence.

One Race Will Constitute A Regatta          

Courses: Courses will be outlined in the Sailing Instructions

Classes: 3 boats constitute a Fleet. Each Fleet will get their own start.

Trophies: 1st-5th overall for each class that has over 10 registrants. All classes with less than 10 registrants will have 1st - 3rd. The number of trophies will be determined by the number of pre-registrants by April 1, 2019.

General Facilities: Boats will be launched off the boat ramps or beach area at Richard Simpson Park. Storage will be on the fenced area located behind the Lake Office or designated area. All boats will be stored out of the water at night. Storage is at the owner's risk. The City of Arlington or the Arlington Yacht Club do not accept responsibility for boats stored overnight. The AYC, in partnership with the City of Arlington, will have use of the new  Lake Office and  banquet facility. No camping is available. Please see below for housing information.

Day launch permits are included in your entry fee.

Restrooms will be available at the Park's banquet hall. Public facilities are also available. There are no showers available.

Hotel and Housing Information: Limited Housing with club members may be available upon request-or-http://www.arlington.org/hotels.

Disclaimer of Liability: Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See RRS Rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizingauthority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to during or after the regatta.
